Privacy policy
What this site collects, why, and what happens to it. Written in plain English, because a policy nobody can read is not really a disclosure.

The short version

What we collect, and how long we keep it
Everything this website collects is listed below. There is nothing else, and no category has been left out to make the table look shorter.

The inquiry form
The form asks for four things: your first name, your email address, your mobile number and a description of your project. That is all it sends, and every field is used for the same purpose, which is replying to you.
Submissions go into our own Mautic system, hosted at hikebranding.emailclink.com. Hike Branding is our sister company and both companies share one team, so an enquiry sent to either reaches the same people.
The form itself sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. It sends your details only at the moment you press submit, and it loads only when you scroll near it.
We do not add you to a marketing list because you made an enquiry. If we ever start a newsletter, you will have to ask for it.
The AI chat
The chat widget is a live demonstration of the kind of assistant we build. Conversations are recorded, which the chat panel says before you type anything.
What each exchange records: the time, your question, our reply, which page you were on, a random identifier for that browser tab, and a one-way hash of your IP address that is scrambled with a fresh value each day.
What it does not record: your IP address in readable form, any cookie, or anything at all that could connect today's conversation to tomorrow's. The daily hash exists so we can tell one conversation from another within a single day, and it stops working the moment the day ends.
The log lives outside the website's public folder, so it cannot be fetched over the web. It deletes anything older than 90 days on its own.
To produce a reply, your message is sent to OpenAI, whose model generates the answer. Please do not type passwords, card numbers or anything confidential into a chat box, on this site or any other.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people actually read. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by our property code, and it is the only thing on this site that sets a cookie.
The AI chat keeps a random conversation id in your browser's session storage, which is not a cookie and disappears the moment you close the tab.
If you change anything in the display settings menu, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers it next time. It never leaves your device and we cannot see it. Those are the only two things this site stores on your device besides the analytics cookies above.
You can block or delete these at any time in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out add-on. The site works exactly the same either way.
What we never do
Some of the most useful things a privacy policy can say are about what is absent. On this site, all of the following are true:
- We never sell, rent or trade your personal data.
- There are no advertising, remarketing or social media tracking pixels anywhere on this site.
- We do not track you across other websites, and we cannot.
- We do not buy data about you from anyone else.
- We do not use your enquiry or your chat messages to train an AI model of our own.
Who else handles your data
We use a small number of outside services to run the site. Each one only sees the data it needs for its own job, and none of them are permitted to use it for anything else.
- Google Analytics receives anonymous usage statistics.
- OpenAI receives your chat messages, in order to generate a reply.
- Mautic, self-hosted by our sister company Hike Branding, receives inquiry form submissions.
- Microsoft receives your booking details, but only if you choose to book a call.
- Our hosting provider holds the website and its server logs.
Because we work with clients in the US, Canada, the UK, the EU, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Japan, some of these providers process data outside your own country. They are all major providers operating under standard international data transfer safeguards.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or the European Union, the GDPR gives you a set of rights over your data. We apply them to everyone who contacts us, wherever you happen to live, because it would be strange to do otherwise.
- See it. Ask for a copy of whatever we hold about you.
- Correct it. Tell us anything that is wrong and we will fix it.
- Delete it. Ask us to remove it. You do not need to give a reason.
- Take it. Ask for it in a portable format you can give to someone else.
- Object. Tell us to stop processing it, and we will stop.
- Complain. Raise it with your national data protection authority if you are unhappy with how we responded.

Security, children and changes
The whole site is served over HTTPS. The chat log sits outside the public web folder, and no API key or credential is ever stored in the website's code.
This site is aimed at businesses and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. We do not make quiet edits.
